In his presentation Andrey Prokopiev talks about the dualism of commitment to the church and openness to non-denominational social and intellectual values within the educational system in Germany starting in the 16th century. The emphasis of the education was often on religious studies so the potential heir to the throne was a firm Protestant despite the physicophilosophical progress of the Renaissance.
