Olga Khavanova: “Innate Nobleness and erudite superiority: The Theresianum in Vienna as the Educational Ideal of the Nobility in the Second Half of the 18th Century”

In her talk Olga Khavanova traces parts of the history by highlighting the tensions the Therasianum in Vienna, the leading institution for Catholic noble elites of the Habsburg monarchy during the second half of the 18th century. Because of the proximity to the court, “noble exercise” training was taught but there were also lectures on law, military and politics.
